Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are some frequently asked questions about our candles, and about ordering from Old Dominion Candle Company. If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
1. What ingredients are in your candles?
Our candles contain clean burning 100 % soy wax made from U.S. grown soybeans. We use fragrance oils that are free of Phthalates and use cotton wicks that do not contain zinc or lead.
2. How do I get the best burn from my candle?
When lighting your candle for the first time, burn until the wax melts almost across the entire surface of the container. This could take 2-4 hours depending on the size of the container. This will ensure an even burn for the life of the candle. ALWAYS trim wick to ¼” before every lighting and burn a minimum of 2-3 hours at each burning.
3. What causes the white marks in the wax of my soy candle?
Due to the nature of soy wax, white marks may appear in the wax of the candle. This is a normal characteristic of soy wax called frosting. It can be caused from temperature fluctuations during the candle making process and from the climate where the candles are stored. Frosting does not affect the overall quality and burn of the candle.
4. When will my products ship?
Orders are usually processed within 24 hours. We use USPS and UPS for shipping. During warmer weather, candles will be shipped Monday-Wednesday only.
5. What is your return policy?
